Cheryl began decorating cakes in the early 1980’s and spent some time working for others in the bakery business and gift shops. After losing his job of 27 years due to a company merger, Felix felt it was too late to start over in another job. By combining both of their talents and interests, they decided to start their own business to provide beautiful cakes and delicious desserts to the people of Baton Rouge.

In 1991 the bakery got its start in a little 1200 square foot building. After three years in that building, they custom built a 3274 square foot building approximately 1 mile from the original location. A few years later they added 1,000 square feet of production area to total 4274 square feet.

Due to the demand of fresh baked goods in the Baton Rouge area, they decided to upgrade for a third time!

This is a very exciting move for the family business. The new location of The Ambrosia Bakery has over 8,200 square feet of production, retail space and staffing that ranges from 60 to 70 employees depending on the season.

With a whole new "look & feel" you will be very excited about your Ambrosia Bakery experience. The new Ambrosia Bakery provides a large indoor and outdoor dining area with plenty of room to enjoy the fresh baked sweets.

The Ambrosia Deli, which includes chef prepared wraps, salads and soups, provides you with a lovely location to meet with family, friends or business associates for breakfast or lunch. If you are in a rush, you can order to-go! For those special events, you can choose from a stunning array of chocolates on display in the chocolate case or enjoy traditional Italian ice cream. Finally, the Ambrosia Bakery Bridal Department is designed for comfort. Those interested in the award winning Ambrosia wedding cakes have the opportunity to view the displays, work with a wedding cake consultant and insure that their dreams are made a reality.
